Illegal Immigrant Charged with Murder After Girlfriend’s Body Found in Maryland Forest

CHARLES COUNTY, MD – A 24-year-old Guatemalan national, identified as KEYCY ROBINSON ALEXI BARRERA-ROSA, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, LESBIA MILETH RAMIREZ GUERRA, 23, whose body was discovered in a forested area near Cedarville State Forest in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office announced the charges on Monday, marking a grim development in a case that has shaken the local community.

According to authorities, Guerra was reported missing on March 31. Her body was found on April 17 in a heavily wooded area, buried under debris. Investigators revealed that Guerra was the mother of two young children, adding to the tragedy of her untimely death.

ROSA was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on April 5 in La Plata, Maryland, for entering the country illegally. His uncle, ROLVIN EDUARDO BARRERA-BARRERA, 37, was also charged as an accessory in the case. Both men faced prior immigration charges after being apprehended near El Paso, Texas, on April 10, 2019, and were issued notices to appear before an immigration judge. ICE has placed an immigration detainer on BARRERA-BARRERA, who is currently held at the Charles County Detention Center.

The investigation into Guerra’s disappearance took a significant turn when authorities discovered suspicious activity at her home just one day after she was last seen. During the search, officials uncovered fake federal documents belonging to BARRERA-ROSA.

VERNON LIGGINS, ICE Baltimore acting field office director, emphasized the importance of the arrest in a statement. “This heinous crime not only devastated a community but also reinforced the urgent need to prioritize public safety by identifying, arresting, and removing egregious illegal aliens who threaten our neighborhoods. ICE will continue to work tirelessly, side by side with our law enforcement partners, to safeguard our communities and uphold the rule of law,” he said.

Charles County Sheriff TROY D. BERRY expressed his condolences to Guerra’s family. “While this was not the ending that we all hoped for, I am grateful to all those who worked so hard to find Ms. Guerra. On behalf of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, I offer our most sincere condolences to all of her family and friends,” Berry stated.

The case has reignited debate over illegal immigration in Maryland, a state that has recently seen high-profile incidents involving undocumented individuals. Earlier this year, Maryland resident RACHEL MORIN was killed by an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, prompting outcry from residents and lawmakers. PATTY MORIN, Rachel’s mother, criticized politicians for advocating for illegal immigrants over victims of crime. “They would rather champion his cause, a criminal, than the victim,” she told Fox News Digital. “Americans, and especially Marylanders, are outraged.”

As BARRERA-ROSA awaits extradition to the Charles County Detention Center, the case continues to highlight the complexities and challenges of immigration enforcement in the United States.
