Four Killed as Vehicle Crashes into Illinois After-School Camp

Four individuals, including children, tragically lost their lives after a vehicle crashed into an after-school camp in Chatham, Illinois, on Monday, according to local authorities. The Illinois State Police (ISP) confirmed the incident to Fox News Digital on Monday evening, stating that the crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. at the YNOT After School Camp.

The vehicle reportedly struck multiple people outside the building before driving through the structure, hitting individuals inside, and ultimately exiting through the west wall. All four victims were between the ages of 4 and 18, with three struck outside the building and one inside. Several others were injured and transported to local hospitals, including one individual via life flight helicopter.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, remained uninjured and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. The Illinois State Police are actively investigating the incident.

GOV. JB PRITZKER issued a statement expressing his condolences to the victims and their families Monday evening. “My administration is closely monitoring the crash in Chatham,” he wrote. “As we continue to learn more, please follow the guidance of all local authorities. Let’s wrap our arms around the community tonight as we receive updates on the situation.”
