Florida State University (FSU) police are actively responding to an ongoing incident on the Tallahassee campus, working swiftly to bring the situation under control. The university issued an alert on X (formerly Twitter), confirming reports of an active shooter and urging everyone on campus to shelter in place.
A senior Florida law enforcement source informed Fox News that at least one individual is in custody, though it remains unclear if the person is the suspected shooter. The FBI’s Jacksonville field office and Tallahassee resident agency are also on-site, assisting with the investigation.
TALLAHASSEE MEMORIAL HEALTHCARE (TMH) released a statement to Fox News, confirming that they have received patients related to the FSU incident. However, TMH declined to disclose the number of patients or specific treatments administered, citing patient privacy concerns. “At this time, details are still unfolding, and we do not yet have specific information to share,” the statement read. “However, we want to assure the community that our teams are fully mobilized and prepared to provide the highest level of care and support to all those affected. We remain in close coordination with emergency responders and public safety officials.”
Local authorities, including the TALLAHASSEE POLICE DEPARTMENT and firefighters, have been dispatched to the scene to assist in managing the situation.
