Two Pettis County Deputies Injured in Narcotics Investigation Shooting

Two deputies from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri were injured on Friday morning after a suspect involved in a narcotics investigation opened fire during the execution of a search warrant. The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m., according to a news release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Drug and Crime Control Division.

The deputies were attempting to serve the warrant when the suspect shot both officers. One deputy returned fire, but the suspect was not struck. Both injured deputies were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. As of the latest update, one deputy remains under treatment, while the other has been released.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was apprehended and is currently being held at the Pettis County jail. Authorities have not provided further details regarding the suspect’s background or the ongoing investigation.
