U.S. Government Offers $5 Million Bounty for Capture of Notorious MS-13 Leader YULAN ADONAY ARCHAGA CARÍAS

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the Trump administration confirmed on Monday that a $5 million reward remains available for information leading to the arrest of YULAN ADONAY ARCHAGA CARÍAS, a high-ranking leader of the violent MS-13 gang. Known by aliases such as “Alexander Mendoza” and “Porky,” the 43-year-old Honduran national is considered a key figure in the transnational criminal organization, which the U.S. government has labeled a foreign terrorist group.

PAMELA BOND, Attorney General, emphasized the urgency of apprehending Archaga Carías, stating, “This terrorist leader cannot remain free while MS-13 continues to devastate communities across America and the Western Hemisphere. If you have information that can lead to his arrest, come forward now.”

Archaga Carías, already on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, is accused of orchestrating a wide range of crimes, including drug trafficking, gunrunning, money laundering, and ordering the murders of rivals. According to the FBI, he oversaw MS-13’s operations in Honduras, providing resources such as firearms, narcotics, and cash to support the gang’s activities in Central America and the United States. He is also allegedly responsible for facilitating multi-ton cocaine shipments into the U.S. and participating in numerous gang-related killings.

KASH PATEL, FBI Director, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to dismantling MS-13. “Eliminating MS-13 remains one of the FBI’s top priorities, and we will not rest until this mission is complete. Together with our law enforcement partners, we will ensure that Archaga Carías—a terrorist whose reign of terror is nearing its end—is brought to justice,” Patel said.

MS-13, a predominantly Salvadoran gang, has expanded its reach across Central America and the United States. In El Salvador, President NAYIB BUKELE has taken aggressive measures to combat the group, incarcerating over 80,000 suspected members in specialized megaprisons known as Terrorism Confinement Centers.

Recent U.S. headlines have featured MS-13 again following the deportation of alleged member KILMAR ABREGO GARCIA, an undocumented immigrant suspected of involvement in labor and human trafficking, according to a 2022 Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) report. Fox News reporters RACHEL WOLF and DAVID SPUNT contributed to this story.
