A 23-year-old Malibu, California man, FRASER BOHM, has been ordered to stand trial on charges of murder and vehicular manslaughter following a tragic crash that claimed the lives of four Pepperdine University students. The incident occurred on October 17, 2023, on the Pacific Coast Highway, a section notoriously known as Dead Man’s Curve.
Prosecutors revealed that BOHM was allegedly driving between 93 and 104 mph in a 45 mph zone when he crashed into three parked vehicles. The speed was determined using data from his BMW’s black box, as reported by FOX 11. The victims, identified as NIAMH ROLSTON, 20, PEYTON STEWART, 21, ASHA WEIR, 21, and DESLYN WILLIAMS, 21, were all sorority sisters at Pepperdine and were tragically killed in the collision.
Witness accounts of the incident have been conflicting. MICHAEL KRAUT of Kraut Law Group, BOHM’s defense attorney, stated that one witness admitted to chasing BOHM in a road rage incident, which he claims contributed to the crash. KRAUT added that witnesses corroborated BOHM’s claim that he was traveling at 70 mph, not 104 mph, before the crash.
KRAUT further explained, “There was somebody who had their lights shining directly into his eyes, and he had to move over, and that was shown on a video where somebody pulled into the center median.” He noted that a woman in front of BOHM also saw the lights, moved over part of the lane, and honked, startling BOHM and leading to the crash.
“This is a horrible, horrible case for everybody — the victims, families,” KRAUT said. “It’s a horrific event. And my client’s family and my client feel distraught over what happened. But the issue is holding my client responsible for the level of crime, if any, that he committed, not just going to the top for murder.”
Superior Court Judge DIEGO H. EDBER has scheduled BOHM’s arraignment for July 1. Fox News Digital has reached out to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for further comment.
